I want to thank you for the response I have already enrolled in two separate credit monitoring services. Within two weeks of faxing this notice to their Consumer Affairs Special Services department, I got letters confirming that Extended Alert was added to my account for free. I have provided a copy of the letter I faxed to Experian below - I also included a copy of their "Your information was stolen" letter that they mailed to me, as an attachment. The fax number of their "Consumer Affairs Special Services" department is: 97. As a result of this, Experian mailed me a letter and did an place "initial fraud alert" on my account.ģ) Get your case # from your attorney general.Ĥ) Fax a letter to Experian, requesting that they place an extended fraud alert on your credit report. In addition, they might also contact Experian in regards to this matter. Your attorney general should grant you a case number, that you can reference with future interactions. Specifically call out Experian in this letter, and how they let thieves steal your personal information.
